Catching DewDrops

…a disclaimer of sorts:

This blog is my attempt to capture the simple grace of everyday ordinariness; A series of verbal and photographic vignettes that for one reason or another strike me as worth pausing for.

My days, like everyone’s, are full of failures as well as joys. (And the two aren’t mutually exclusive.) Often I’m weary and exhausted, but something dies within my soul when moments of beauty fade, unnoticed, in the blur of survival. For this purpose, I strive see the hand of the Artist in the landscape of my days and savor the beauty of each season.

From the outside looking in, it may seem others have it all together. On the off chance that it appears I do, rest assured, I’m no supermom. (Those who know me personally can testify that I’m not really a super anything.)

There are some days I’d like to hide in the pantry, and some days I do hide in the pantry. I even have days when I cause my family to wish they could all hide in the pantry.

My heart is to be real and honest, yet not dwell on the warts. The glimpses on this blog are, I believe, accurate and true-to-life, but they aren’t the sum total of our existence. I don’t blog to be a down-and-dirty reality show, but rather for the joy of seeing and sharing commonplace beauty and discovering the art and story interwoven into the plot of the mundane.

Our days have their rough spots, but they are also full of delights; I share some of each here, but prefer to primarily reflect on (and share) the lovely!

Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
~Philippians 4:8~
