Last Hurrah of Summer

Last week as public and private schools resumed classes, we enjoyed an extended weekend (clear through Thursday) in the mountains!

We hiked:

We made wreaths of wildflowers:

We splashed in rivers:

We watched the last, shy, hummingbirds before their migration south:

And we traded our chickens for a flock of wild turkeys for a week:

We even shared lattes in downtown Estes Park:

I’ll share more in a “part two” of this post. Right now, I need to cinch up the last of my school prep for the week ahead! Tomorrow the school term begins fresh here!  More on that soon too!
