Homecoming!

All flights were on-time or even early.  The only delay happened when they were on the shuttle from the airport, just an hour from home.  The bus broke down.

After an extra hour or so delay, they were home safe and sound.  A sleepy Kiffanie was lifted out of the vehicle, to greet her new family.

We thought a bath might feel good, but had no idea the magic therein!  I didn’t take bath pictures, but the moment Ken and I put her in the water, she was delighted.  Giggling, splashing, and having a blast!  Running water is a novelty.  Although they bathe twice daily at the orphanage, a warm bath is a new treat!

Here she and her siblings are dressed for bed, but far too wound for bedtime yet!  We found ourselves checking Google-Translate for phrases like, “Don’t throw.”   Inside rules will be a teaching opportinity, as matchbox cars really shouldn’t be air-born.  It was all joyous though, and I think she’ll learn the ropes fairly quickly.

In the ensuing playtime she had spontaneous hugs for mommy and sisters, hugs for brothers, and lots of wild giggles.

We ate dinner and I snuggled her into bed.  She let me lie beside her as she dozed off in the futon at the foot of our bed.

This morning we woke to a dusting of snow!  No outdoor play for the moment, as I think Kiffanie would freeze.  I thought I’d play some duck-duck goose with her and the other children while Keegan did the breakfast dishes.  Little did I know that four children and mommy playing a game wouldn’t compete with a brother washing dishes!  Once again, the delights of running water beckoned.  Soon she was helping Keegan with the dishes.
