Autumn Reflections

Autumn is coming! It’s an overcast day, and our home smells so cozy. Lentil-rice soup is steaming on the stove for lunch. To welcome fall in our decor I’ve put out arrangements of indian corn and gourds, as well as a few sheaves of wheat here and there.

Yesterday my wonderful mother-in-law came up for our biannual bloomer fitting! She helped me sort through the great bloomer bin in the barn and inventory our supply of long winter bloomers. Little Keianna won’t need new bloomers this year, but Kaira and Kendra both will be keeping Grandma’s sewing machine humming. What a blessing to have a bloomer-making-grandma!

I sliced up several boxes of peaches for the freezer. They should be yummy in cobblers, smoothies, and perhaps a batch or two of jam.

Today’s plans include attending a birthday party for a neighbor boy, and trying to attack the omnipresent mounds of laundry.

    Sounds like a great grandma!!

May I ask how you freeze the peaches? We live amidst apple/peach orchards and to freeze them would be wonderful….are their any secrets to this?

    Thanks

  2. Peaches are my absolute favorite fruit! Yummy!

I enjoyed reading your random list in the entry below. I don’t even want to THINK about what diaper rash ointment tastes like!

    Abiding in the Vine!
