Discovering old friends on ancient maps

It is such fun to see children make associations! Yesterday after our History studies we were looking at a map of early civilizations. My intention was to explain the map to the girls, but I had a hard time getting a word in as they were excitedly explaining it to me!

“There’s Mt Ararat, Mommy! That’s where the Ark landed! There’s the Tigris and the Euphrates! And Damascus–Jesus walked there, and there’s Ur, Didn’t Abraham go there?   Babylon! Daniel was taken to Babylon!”

Most of these things we’ve not covered yet in our “History study”, but they are remembering from the Bible.

The map was like a portal to their beloved and familiar friends!
